and…
After she lived with her father, Homer was one of the nearest Alaskan settlements, and Jewell was different from most other children in that she spent her early years. When asked about the time she grew up with her father, she said: “We live far from town. We had to walk 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) to reach the saddle barn where I grew up…no Tap water, no heating-we have a coal stove and an outhouse, and we live mainly on what we can kill or catch. We pick berries and make jam. We catch fish to freeze, and there are gardens and livestock to live in In summer, I ride horses in the midnight sun of Alaska every day. I like it there.

Career: From coffee shop to big stage
Jewel was first taught by her father how to sing Yodel, and she sometimes sang with her father to earn extra income. After receiving guitar training, at the age of 16, she began to write songs for the guitar. After graduation, she moved to San Diego, California, where she worked as a “telephone operator” in a computer warehouse and coffee shop. She started walking around the country and performing local performances wherever possible, from hotels to coffee shops. In her early career, she eventually met Steve Boltz, who later recruited him as her guitarist. In 1993, she was discovered by “Rust” John Hogan, who let his Paramount manager Inga Vainshtein know that Jewel is a talented performer and deserves the opportunity. Vainshtein went to watch her sing with a representative from Atlantic Records. Subsequently, Pearl signed a contract with the above-mentioned music production company and released her first album “Pieces of You” in 1995. At its peak, she reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. In 1998, the second album “Spirit” was released, and “Joy: A Holiday Collection” came out in 1999. In the same year, the aforementioned Steve Poltz followed her to participate in the Spirit World Tour. After that, she released a total of nine albums, with a maximum interval of three years between each album.

Love life: divorcing Ty Murray
As for Pearl’s love affair, it is well known that she dated Sean Penn in 1995, who had seen her performance in “Late Night in Conan O’Brien”. He later invited her to compose a song for his movie “Guards Passing By” and to tour with her.
Later, on August 7, 2008, after ten years of dating, Jewel married professional rodeo cowboy Ty Murray in the Bahamas. After six years of marriage, Jewel gave birth to her only child, Kase Townes Murray, on June 11, 2011. Three years later, on July 2, 2014, Jewel announced on her website that she and Murray were in the process of divorcing. I don’t know who she has dated after that, or who got custody of the child. She currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
Feminist gems:
Jewell is a well-known feminist. She once said: “I don’t think I started as a young feminist. I read a lot of books in Alaska. The place where I grew up was very isolated. I don’t think I’ve ever thought about how I’m different from men; I grew up in a place where pioneer women are still very strong. They wear shoes and build their own houses and are very self-sufficient. I didn’t until I grew up. Become a fan of women and love what women can balance and achieve by being them.
