Who is Wes Study?
Wesley Studie was born on December 17, 1947 in Nofire Hollow, Oklahoma, USA; his father was a ranch worker named Andy, and his mother Maggie was a housekeeper, and he had three brothers, Bob, Andy Lee and Calvin. Wes is a Cherokee actor and producer, musician and guitarist, probably best known for his role in the 1992 evergreen film The Last of the Mohicans.
Early life and education
Wes attended Chiloco Indian Agricultural School in 1964, immediately joined the Oklahoma National Guard for basic combat training, and later completed advanced individual training in Louisiana when he was only 17 years old. Afterwards, Wes attended and graduated from Tulsa Junior College.
One little-known fact about Wes is that he fought in Vietnam, where he worked for a year and a half. It was his own decision to go there to fight – he volunteered and later returned to America where he became politically involved in Amerindian activism.

TV debut and his film career
In 1988, his first film appearance was in The Trial of the Bear; at the age of 40, many thought he was too late to start his career, but that didn’t bother him. The film wasn’t very popular, but Wes continued his career and went on to star in a number of films, including some that are considered evergreens, and some of the best ever. One of them was The Last of the Mohicans, shot in 1992, in which Wes played the film’s main villain, Magua. The story is a historical drama set in 1757, depicting a period during the French and Indian wars, with two touching love stories: one with Hawkeye and Cora Munro, the other with Ancas and Alice Munro. Another film that received some very positive reviews and was nominated for an Oscar in 2009 was Avatar – Wes played the role of Eytukan, chief of the Na’vi tribe.
It may be hard to believe, but from 1988 to the present, Wes has appeared in 86 films. In addition to those already mentioned, notable are “Dances with Wolves” in 1990, “Broken Chains” in 1993, “Geronimo: An American Legend” in 1993, “Mysterious Man” in 1999 and Most of the 2017 “hostiles” are playing Indian roles.

Wes teaches Cherokee and is co-producer of a newspaper written in Cherokee. Shortly after graduation, he married his first wife, Rebecca Graves. The details are just that it is ephemeral. He just started acting because he heard that the film industry is a great place to meet ladies (that’s who he is). His second wife, Maura Dhu, whom he married in 1974, is a singer and writer—they moved to a farm life in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1982, which Wes still enjoys— He also owns a life on a farm before he started his acting career. Appearance and Net Worth
Despite some rumors of his fictional death, Wes is as alive as anyone reading this. He has short black hair and black eyes, is 5 feet 10 inches (178 centimeters) tall, and weighs about 158 pounds (72 kilograms). According to pundits, Wes is estimated to be worth around $1 million, mostly from his film roles, as well as TV shows and shows.

Weiss was part of the Wounded Knee Incident of 1973 — which began on February 27 when about 200 Ogla Lakotas and Cherokees occupied the town of Wounded Knee, South Dakota. The whole thing happened because the OSCRO (Oglara Sioux Civil Rights Organization) failed to remove tribal president Richard Wilson. Their control of the town lasted more than two months and eleven days. There were few shootings during the occupation, however, a U.S. marshal was shot and paralyzed, while a Cherokee and an Ogla Lakota were killed. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your own point of view), Wilson was re-elected even though he was accused of many alleged wrongdoings by the Indian community.

Honors and Awards
Wes, 71, may be the best actor in the Cherokee community. He has won four awards, two in 1994, 1998 and 2000, the Western Heritage Award, the Career Achievement Award, the Golden Boot and the Occidental Heritage Award for his role in Geronimo: An American Legend. Artist of the Decade Awards – First American respectively. In 2013, he was also inducted into Oklahoma’s Great Western Performers Hall.

Wes was fluent in Cherokee and didn’t speak any other language until elementary school.
Wes is also interested in sculpture, tennis, and enjoys playing jazz on guitar (he also plays bass).
He was the host of the 2018 Oscars.
Wes and his wife Maura used to play in a six-piece band called “Firecat of Discord”. His brother Bob is the drummer for the band.
