Born Wayne Michael Bridge on 5 August 1980 in Southampton, England, he played as a left-back for the Football League Championship club Reading. Bridge settled in Winchester with his family when he was a toddler, but he has since returned to his native Southampton under very favourable circumstances.
A talented young sportsman, he was part of Winchester’s Oliver Battery Primary School, where he caught the attention of manager Mitch Adams.
