Walter Hill Net Worth: Walter Hill is an American film director who has a net worth of $20 million. Born January 10, 1942 in Long Beach, California, the younger of two brothers, he worked in oil drilling and construction in the 1960s before becoming the second assistant director in 1967.
Since 1975, he has written and co-written numerous screenplays and produced and directed films. Hill became a movie buff at an early age, citing the first film he remembers seeing as “Song of the South.” He later described his taste as “…young. I like adventures, westerns, but I like everything…” Hill got a job in Los Angeles, researching the production of a company linked to the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Historical documentaries, but he was more interested in the entertainment industry, so he started writing scripts and had the urge to direct. His film credits between 1968 and 2013 include Thomas Crown Affair (1968 version), Bullitt, Take the Money and Run, The Getaway, Hard Times, Alien 3, The Fugitive, Undisputed, Broken Trail, Prometheus and many more. Hill’s first completed script was a Western called Lloyd Williams and His Brothers, chosen by Joe Wizan, but the film was never finished. However, the script was appreciated at Warner Bros., who then asked Hill to pitch them some other projects. Hill came up with a detective story he called Hickey & Boggs, the studio agreed to fund a draft, and his screenwriting career began. Hill married Hildy Gottlieb, a talent agent at International Creative Management, on September 7, 1986. They have two daughters, Joanna and Miranda.
