Verne Troyer is an American actor, comedian, stuntman and reality TV star. He played “Mini-Me” in the Austin Powers film series. His film credits include How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001). He has appeared on TV shows such as Surreal Life and Celebrity Big Brother. Troyer was born on January 1, 1969 in Sturgis, Michigan. He was diagnosed with dwarfism as an infant. His father, Reuben, was a technician, and his mother, Susan, was a factory worker. Troyer played “Mini-Me” in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), the evil sidekick of Doctor Evil. The film is directed by Jay Roach and stars Mike Myers. The role of Mini-Me reappeared in Goldmember (2002) in Austin Powers. Troyer appeared opposite Jim Carrey in the Christmas drama film How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000) by Dr. Seuss. He had a small role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001) as “Griphook”, a goblin.
