Born on September 10, 1951 in Almaty, Vasily Vasilievich Anisimov made his fortune as a co-founder of the development company Coalco. Anisimov, then a graduate of the Almaty National School of Economics, was head of the Kalinin nuclear power plant from 1982 to 1986, and for the next three years he was head of the Moscow branch in Hotzburg, Russia.
In 1992, Anisimov established a trust company as a special exporter for the sale of non-ferrous metals. He later renamed the company Trustconsult and started trading aluminum. Then in 1994 Anisimov founded his development company Coalco in Switzerland and soon took over the shares of Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Works, Achinsk Alumina Refinery and Bratsk Aluminium Works. Six years later, after his daughter was assassinated, Anisimov sold everything to Renova, but in 2004 he joined colleagues Andrei Skoch and Alisher Wu Alisher Usimanov came out of the shadows together as a supporter of Metaloinvest Holding. In addition to his wealth, in 2010 he bought shares in 11 Russian alcohol companies from VTB.
