Valentino Rossi is an Italian motorcycle racer with a net worth of US$200 million. Valentino Rossi is one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time. Rossi has won nine World Grand Prix titles, seven of which are top events.
Early life and career
Valentino Rossi was born on February 16, 1979 in Urbino, Italy. Valentino’s father Graziano Rossi’s father was a race car driver. He followed in his father’s footsteps and started participating in kart racing at a very young age. When his son was only 5 years old, his father replaced the 60cc engine on his kart with a 100cc national kart engine. Rossi won the Regional Karting Championship in 1990 and joined Minimoto. By 1991, he had won numerous regional competitions. In 1995, Valentino won the Italian 125CC Championship and ranked third in the European Championship.
Profession
Rossi started participating in the Aprilia Grand Prix in the 125cc category in 1996. He won his first world championship the following year, after which he was promoted to the 250cc group with Aprilia and won the 250cc world championship in 1999. In 2000, he graduated with honors and won the 500cc world championship. Honda, and the 2002 and 2003 MotoGP World Championships (also with Honda). After leaving Honda for Yamaha, Rossi continued his back-to-back championships by winning championship titles in 2004 and 2005. Due to a collision in the final round of Valencia, Rossi lost his 2006 title and gave his title to his former Honda teammate Nicky Hayden. Other racing activities
Rossi tried and tested the Ferrari Formula One car in February 2006, and was invited to join the Formula One car and started racing immediately. After the tax case in 2007, he returned to Italy to live close to his family. In May 2005, Rossi received an honorary degree in communication and advertising. Since 2019, he has been dating Italian model Francesca Sofia Novello.
Legal Issues
In 2007, Rossi was accused by the Italian tax authorities of failing to declare $160 million in income between 2000 and 2004. He was previously investigated for tax evasion in 2002, but was unsuccessful. Officials claimed that in opposition to European tax treaties between European countries, Rossi’s London residency allowed him to take advantage of favorable tax conditions, such as only declaring his income in the UK and avoiding taxation on his goods and sponsorship contracts . During the thorough investigation, the authorities announced that although Rossi is technically a London resident, his “center of interest” is not there. In February 2008, Rossi announced that they had settled at a price of 35 million euros (approximately 41 million U.S. dollars) to avoid possible imprisonment.
