Tyler, The Creator is an American rapper, producer and music video director. He is the founder of alternative hip-hop group Odd Future. His records include Goblin (2011), Wolf (2013), Cherry Bomb (2015) and Flower Boy (2017). Tyler Gregory Okonma was born on March 6, 1991 in Ladera Heights, California. He was raised by a single mother. Taylor taught himself the piano when he was young. He attended several different schools in California. Before music, he also worked at Starbucks.

Hip-hop group Odd Future (OFWGKTA) was formed in Los Angeles in 2007. Founding members include Tyler, Hodgy, Left Brain, Casey Veggies, The Super 3 and Jasper Dolphin. Their debut studio album, The OF Tape Vol. 2, released in 2012. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Tyler’s sophomore album Wolf dropped in April 2013. It is released by his labels Odd Future Records and RED Distribution. The album reached number one on the Top Rap Albums chart. Taylor appeared on the single “Wow” from Earl Sweatshirt’s debut album Doris (2013). He appeared on ScHoolboy Q’s third album, Oxymoron (2014). He has also collaborated with artists such as Pusha T, The Game, DJ Drama and more.

Tyler’s third album Cherry Bomb was released in April 2015. 51,000 copies were sold in the first week. The album features guest vocals by Lil Wayne, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and Charlie Wilson. His fourth studio album, Flower Boy, is awaiting a July 2017 release from Columbia Records. Tracks from the project include “Who Dat Boy” and “911/Mr. Solitude”. All 14 songs on the album were produced by Tyler, The Creator.

In addition to rapping and producing, Taylor has appeared on several TV shows. His TV credits include Loiter Squad, Black Dynamite, Axe Cop, Punk’d and The Regular Show. He has performed on late night shows with Jimmy Fallon, Arsenio Hall and David Letterman. Taylor appeared in the documentary Made in America (2013) with rapper Jay Z. He also directed several music videos under the nickname Wolf Haley.
