Tupac Shakur is an American rapper and actor, whose stage name is 2Pac. He was born on June 16, 1971 in Lesane Parish Crooks, East Harlem, New York. His parents Affini Shakur and Billy Garland are members of the Black Panther Party. Shakur was raised by his mother. The family moved to Maryland in 1986, where he studied at the Baltimore School of Art. There, he took courses in acting, dancing and ballet. The family moved to California in 1988, and soon after, Shakur joined the hip-hop band Digital Underground.

When Shakur made his debut as a solo artist in 1991, he used the name 2Pac for the first time. He released the album 2Pacalypse Now, which sold more than one million copies. His second album Strictly 4 My NIGGAZ was released in 1993 and included the singles “Keep Ya Head Up” and “I Get Around”. His two-disc albums “All Eyez on Me” and “Greatest Hits” are among the best-selling albums in the United States. His 1995 single “Dear Mom” was added to the National Records Registry in 2010. Shakur has sold more than 75 million records worldwide during his music career.
As an actor, Shakur made his first appearance in the 1991 film “Nothing Good.” Subsequently, he starred in the 1993 crime drama “Juice” with Omar Epps and Samuel Jackson. Other famous films include poetic justice, above the edge, deadlock and gang-related. Shakur’s biopic All Eyez on Me was released in June 2017. He is played by actor Demetrius Shipp Jr.

Tupac Shakur passed away on September 13, 1996, at the age of 25. He was shot dead in a driving shot in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 1996. Six days later, he died from his injuries. His death was six months before the shooting of rival East Coast rapper The Notorious BIG.
