Troy Ave is an American rapper and MC. He is known for projects such as “New York City: The Album” and “The No Deal Major Project.” He was born on November 23, 1985 in Roland Collins, Brooklyn, New York. The stage name “Troy Ave” comes from the street where he grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. His musical influences include 50 Cent, Master P, The Notorious BIG and Young Jeezy.

Troy Ave’s debut mixtape I’m in Traffick was released by BSB Records in 2009. He followed up with a series of mixtapes, including Bricks in My Backpack and White Christmas. His debut studio album, New York City: The Album, was released in November 2013. The album reached number 47 on the top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. It features guest artists such as Pusha T, Prodigy and Raekwon. Troy was inducted into the XXL freshman class in 2014.

Troy’s second album, Major Without a Deal, was released in June 2015 by BSB and Empire Distribution. It featured the single “Quarter Million” with Cam’ron, “I’m Bout It” with Fat Joe, and “Bang Bang” with 50 Cent. The mixtapes “Free Troy Ave” and “Roland Collins” were released in 2016. Troy Ave is also known for his feud with Brooklyn rapper Joey Badass. The feud dates back to the summer of 2015. Both sides have since released diss tracks directed at each other.

Troy Ave is 5-foot-10 and has a net worth of $1 million. He was arrested at a TI concert in May 2016 for attempted murder and unlawful possession of a weapon. He pleaded not guilty and claimed self-defense. He was released in July 2016 after posting a $500,000 bond. Troy Ave was shot and killed in Brooklyn on Christmas night, December 25, 2016. He was reportedly shot in the arm and a second bullet grazed his head. According to his lawyer, he is in stable condition.
