Travis Scott is an American rapper, singer and music producer. His recordings include Rodeo (2015), Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (2016) and Astroworld (2018). He was born Jacques Webster on April 30, 1992, in Houston, Texas. His mother worked at Apple and his father was a businessman. Scott spent his early years with his grandmother in Missouri City. He attended Elkins High School and then the University of Texas. After two years he dropped out of school to pursue music.

Scott played drums and piano as a child. He started making beats in 2008 and released his first collaborative EP in 2009 with friend Chris Holloway. He also worked briefly at OG Chess from 2010 to 2011. Scott moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to start networking and expanding his career. In 2012, he signed with Epic Records and Kanye West’s Good Music. In early 2013, he signed with TI’s Grand Hustle brand. Scott’s debut mixtape, Owl Pharaoh, was released in May 2013. The album was supported by Young Thug’s singles “Wonderful” and “Pick Up the Phone”. Scott’s 2017 singles include “Butterfly Effect” and “Go Off” starring Lil Uzi Vert and Quavo. He collaborated with Quavo on the album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho (2017).

Astroworld is Scott’s third most popular album to date, released in August 2018 by Epic, Cactus Jack and Grand Hustle Records. The album topped the charts in the US, Australia, Canada, Belgium and New Zealand. It is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Astroworld is led by the single “Butterfly Effect”, “Yosemite” by Gunna and Nav, and “Sicko Mode” by Drake, Swae Lee and Big Hawk. Sicko Mode reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified 4x Platinum. The accompanying music video has been viewed over 1.65 million times on YouTube.
