He is a board member of the American Property Insurance Association, the Insurance Information Association, the American Association for Character Property and Casualty Underwriters, the President’s Classroom, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. He is also a trustee of Marymount University and a member of the Federal City Council. He holds a BA in Business Administration from Georgia College; originally from Allegheny County, Virginia, he is the father of Mason alum Lori Nicely ’83. He currently lives in Grand Rapids, Virginia with his wife and two adult children, and currently has three grandchildren.
