Tim Howard is an American football player and former goalkeeper for Everton Football Club. He is currently signed with the Colorado Rapids and plays for the U.S. National Team. He was born Timothy Matthew Howard on March 6, 1979, in North Brunswick, New Jersey. His father “Matthew” was a truck driver and his mother “Esther” worked for a container packaging distributor. Raised by his mother, Howard was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome at a young age. He attended North Brunswick Township High School, where he excelled in both football and basketball. From 1995 to 1997 he played football for the Central Jersey Cosmos.

Howard began his senior career with the North Jersey Empire in 1997. He made his MLS debut in the summer of 1998 with the MetroStars. He was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2001. Howard signed with Manchester United in 2003. The team paid a $4 million transfer fee. He helped the team reach the 2004 FA Cup final and won his first Champions Medal. Howard signed for Everton in 2007 and scored his first Premier League goal against Bolton Rovers in 2012. After a decade at Everton, Howard will move to the Colorado Rapids in the summer of 2016. He has also played for the U.S. National Team since 2002.
