He is best known as one of the original four co-founders of Bloomberg LP Secunda, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Binghamton University.
He started out as a programmer and later as a fixed income trader at Morgan Stanley. He also worked with Michael Bloomberg as a systems researcher at Salomon Brothers. In 1982, Secunda, Bloomberg, Duncan MacMillan and Charles Zegar established the Innovative Market System. The company changed its name to Bloomberg LP in 1987. Secunda is Bloomberg’s Global Head of Financial Products and Services. He oversees approximately 6,000 employees. Secunda became Vice Chairman in 2011. He is also a member of the company’s board of directors. In 2011, he was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Park Conservancy and serves on the boards of the Manhattan Theater Club and the Intrepid Museum Foundation. He and his wife Cindy are signatories of the giving pledge, and they have two daughters.
