origin
Thomas Reid is an American country music singer and composer. His 2013 hit single “It Goes Like This” gave him exposure and fame. Among the three albums he released, nine singles ranked first on the Hot Country charts. Thomas Rhett Akins, Jr was born on March 30, 1990 in Valdosta, Georgia. He is the son of Reid Atkins; an award-winning country singer and songwriter. From a very young age, Reid has been exposed to a wide range of music genres through his father. He has listened to a mix of rock, rap and country music since he was a child. As a child, Reid often went on tour with his father. At the appropriate age, his father allowed him to participate in activities; playing drums and performing cover singing. Because of his father’s reputation, Reid has known singers such as Tim McGraw and Brooks & Dunn since he was a child. Throughout high school, Thomas Rhett was a member of the band called The High Heeled Flip Flops. At first, he had no intention of following in his father’s footsteps, nor did he take music seriously. However, outside of music, he has no fixed career path. It wasn’t until the senior year that Reid began to take music seriously. He graduated and attended Lipscombe University in Nashville, Tennessee. With the intention of studying communication, Rhett’s interest in music increased day by day, and he began to pursue music full-time. He began to perform at fraternity parties and soon met a large audience.
