Who is Momoko Hirai?
Born on November 9, 1996 in Kyotanabe, Kyoto, Japan, Momo Hirai is a singer and dancer best known as a member of the Korean K-pop girl group Twice formed by JYP Entertainment. She is one of the three Japanese members of the group and often performs under the single name Momo.

Early life and career
Growing up in Kyoto, Momo developed a strong interest in dance since she was a child, studying with her three-year-old sister. A year after Momo starred in “Superstar K,” she and her sister were spotted in an online video they posted, which led to the pair being invited to audition for JYP Entertainment. Their confidence grew, and the group went on to produce more hits, releasing a third EP called “Twicecoaster: Lane 1”, which contained another number one hit on “TT” – they were Voted the best-selling K-pop girl group of 2016. They also expanded their influence in Japan, where they transitioned easily thanks to the group’s three Japanese members, Momo, Mina, and Sana.

Signed with Warner Music Japan, and released the compilation album “#Twice”, which was certified platinum and ranked among the top Japanese artists in 2017. So far, they have released two Japanese studio albums, as well as eight Korean-language expansions. The group, one of the most recognized K-pop bands in the world, is responsible for the rise in JYP Entertainment stock. They have achieved many firsts in their careers, including being the first K-pop girl group to hold a Japan Dome tour.

In 2020, Momo was confirmed to be dating Heechul, another K-pop star best known for his work with Super Junior. The couple first met three years ago and started dating months before their relationship became public. The pair were spotted on each other’s social media accounts.
She loves food, especially Korean, and loves it so much that her bandmates call her an eating machine. She also likes watching dramas. Of every member of Twice, she slept the most.
