He first became famous in plastic surgery while he was a resident at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. He appeared in the E! reality TV series Botched and Real Housewives in Orange County with his wife Heather Dubrow.
Early years and personal life
Terry J. Dubrow was born on September 14, 1958 in Los Angeles, California, to Laura and Alvin Dubrow. He has an older brother, Kevin Dubrow, who was the lead singer of the popular heavy metal band Quiet Riot until his death in 2007 from an overdose. Terry attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated in 1986. He also received a master’s degree. Yale. He went on to complete the general surgery residency training, and served as the chief resident of the Harbour-UCLA Medical Center, and completed research on plastic and reconstructive surgery at the UCLA Medical Center.
He met the actress and real housewife of Orange County star Heather Paige Dubrow in the 1990s. They met on a blind date, and Terry fell in love with Heather without hesitation. They married in 1999 and have four children: twins Nicholas and Maximilla, and daughters Katarina and Collette. The family lives in Newport Beach.

Dubrow founded his private clinic to provide cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Newport Beach, California. Before becoming famous through television appearances, Dubrow received amazing reviews and doctor recommendations for facelifts, rhinoplasty, abdominal wrinkles, difficult breast repair cases, and other professional surgeries.
After establishing his own clinic, the Fox producers contacted him in 2004 and they invited him to be the featured plastic surgeon on their reality show “Swan”. After appearing in The Swan, his plastic surgery waiting list was shortened from three months to six months, and the list continues to grow. Since then, he has continued to appear in multiple shows, talking about the benefits and dangers of plastic surgery.
Beginning in the summer of 2014, Dr. Dubrow and Real Housewives’ colleague Dr. Paul Nassif began appearing in their own plastic surgery reality show! Called Botched. The show features him and Nassif, who help people who have had cosmetic surgery errors. This is far from his first (or even the second time) his involvement in a reality show. He has starred in Bridalplasty before. The concept of the show is for 12 women to compete for weddings and transformative cosmetic surgery. Dubro had an operation. The show was only aired for one season. His second TV show is Good Work, A talk show hosted by RuPaul, Terry Dubrow and Sandra Vergara. The show only aired for a few months in 2015. In October 2015, Botched’s eight-episode derivative series was announced as Botched by Nature. The show premiered on August 9, 2016, starring Dubro.

In addition to working in plastic surgery, he is also the former director of the Newport Beach Acne Clinic. He has published many papers in medical journals including The American Journal of Surgery, Journal of Surgical Research, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and he is a co-author of The Acne Cure. Dubrow co-authored this book, Doctor Guinea Pig and Mrs. Guinea Pig, With his wife Heather Dubrovnik. Together, they explored the multi-billion-dollar anti-aging industry and provided unique insights into which products, procedures and treatments will make people look and feel younger.

A patient said in a 2016 review that he “…terrible bedside attitude, he caused me pain, tears and pain many times. It left terrible scars and had to modify my dime many times.” ——Many doctors said that he BOTCHED my abdomen wrinkle and breast reconstruction.” Another comment wrote: “It’s totally fake. This guy is a great TV personality and a bad doctor. He had to redo it. Two operations he had done. There was a hole under my right breast that took 4 months to heal. In 2018, Heather and Terry Dubrow published the book “The Dubrow Diet” to promote fashionable diets.
