Born January 5, 1964 in Englewood, New Jersey, he is best known as the singer and drummer for the American hard rock band Danger Danger. In 1987, Bruno Ravel and Steve West approached Poley to join Danger Danger as drummers while working on their second album with the New Jersey progressive rock band Prophet.
With Danger Danger, Poley rode the wave of success the band experienced during the ’80s “hair metal” era. Danger Danger began touring with well-known groups such as KISS and Alice Cooper. In 1993, Polly was caught off guard when he was fired by the band and hired new singer Paul Lane.
