SZA, real name Solana Imani Rowe, is an American RnB singer and songwriter. Her stage name comes from the Supreme Alphabet and was influenced by the Wudang clan RZA. The first letter represents Savior or Sovereign, the second represents Zig Zag, and the third represents Allah. She was originally born in St. Louis, Missouri, but later moved to Maplewood, New Jersey. She was born on November 8, 1990. Her mother is a Christian and her father is a Muslim. She claims to be an Orthodox Muslim. Her mother and father are executives of AT&T and CNN respectively. SZA grew up in a strict family in a wealthy community. She attended Columbia High School and actively participated in sports. She is a talented gymnast, once ranked fifth in the country, and an aspiring cheerleader. Due to her strict and religious upbringing, SZA had to constantly protect her body. Even in her fitness program, her father made sure that she wears tight pants and long sleeves that conform to Islamic teachings. After the September 11 attacks, SZA’s life will become the worst.
