Stapleton’s photo later caught the attention of a director who then invited him to participate in his short film about a high school dropout at a party where a girl dies. The director was pleased with Stapleton’s performance and encouraged him to continue acting. Stapleton trained at St Martin’s Theatre in Melbourne and studied drama and drama at Sandringham Secondary School (Sandringham, Victoria, Australia).
