Born Salvatore Paul Erna in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1968, Sully Erna is the singer and songwriter of the rock band Godsmack. He started playing an instrument as a toddler and signed his first recording deal with the band Strip Mind in 1993.

He was kicked out of the band after the lowest record sales and formed Godsmack in 1995, although it was originally named The Scam.
