Steven Hauschka went to Middlebury College, where he planned to play Division III football, but was cut by the team as a freshman.
He was encouraged to play on the football team, was elected to NESCAC twice in three seasons, and holds the school’s single-season and career scoring records. Steven Hauschka also played hockey at Middlebury. After graduation, Hauschka went to North Carolina State University for graduate studies. With one year remaining in eligibility, he joined the Wolfpack football team, going 25-for-25 and 18-for-16 from the field. Steven Hauschka was an undrafted free agent in 2008 and was eventually signed by the Minnesota Vikings. Steven Hauschka has also played for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos and UFL’s Las Vegas Motorcycles. In September 2011, Steven Hauschka was selected from the waiver list by the Seattle Seahawks. In Week 10 of that season, he tied Seattle’s record for most field goals in a game with five points.
