Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur, inventor and co-founder of Apple. He led the microcomputer revolution and pioneered a range of technologies including the iMac, iPhone and iPad. Jobs was born “Joanne Schieble” and “Abdulfattah Jandali” on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. He was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs shortly after his birth. Jobs attended Homestead High School and then briefly ran at Reed College. He was introduced to college student and future business partner Steve Wozniak in high school.

Working out of a garage, Jobs and Wozniak started Apple in 1976. They developed and sold the Apple I and II computers, and by 1980 were a public company. Jobs left Apple in 1985 to found NeXT, Inc. A year later, he became the majority shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios. Jobs returned as Apple’s CEO in 1997 to reshape the company. Combining a new product line, new management and effective marketing, his dream soon came true.
