Steve Ditko Net Worth: Steve Ditko was an American comics artist and author who passed away in 2018 with a net worth of $1 million. Born November 2, 1927 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, he is best known as the artist and co-creator of Stan Lee, Marvel Comics hero Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.
Ditko studied under Batman artist Jerry Robinson at the New York City School of Cartoonists and Illustrators, and began his career in 1953 in the studios of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. In the ’60s, he also painted for Atlas Comics (the precursor to Marvel Comics). In addition to being involved in the creation of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, he also worked on the creation of the Hulk and Iron Man. Ditko became a cartoonist inspired by his father’s love of newspaper comic strips, and his interests escalated with the introduction of the superhero Batman in 1940. After retiring from the U.S. Army, Ditko learned of his idol Batman artist Jerry Robinson, who taught at New York City’s School of Cartoonists and Illustrators, and decided to move there in 1950, where he studied under GI Bill attended art school. Steve Ditko was inducted into the Comics Jack Kirby Hall of Fame (1990) and the Will Eisner Awards Hall of Fame (1994). Steve Ditko passed away in June 2018 at the age of 90.
