Sterling K. Brown is an American television and film actor. He is known for his roles as “Randall Pearson” in This Is Us, “Christopher Darden” in “The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” and “Roland Burton” in Army Wife famous. His film credits include Spaceman (2016 film), Marshall (2017) and the upcoming Black Panther (2018). Sterling Kelby Brown was born on April 5, 1976 in St. Louis, Missouri. His parents are Sterling Jr. and Aralean. He has four siblings, Angela, Armand, Robert and Ariel. Brown attended Mary College and St. Louis Country Day School. He holds a BA in Acting from Stanford University and an MA in Performing Arts from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Before acting, Brown worked odd jobs as a dishwasher and maintenance worker. He became interested in acting after starring in “The Spell” in high school. After college, he began taking roles in regional theaters. Brown made his feature film debut in the comedy film Brown Sugar (2002), starring Taye Diggs and Sanaa Lathan. Other early films include Trust the Man (2005) with David Duchovny, Stay (2005) with Ewan McGregor and Righteous Kill (2008) with Robert De Niro. Brown repeatedly served as the officer “Edward Dade” in the crime drama series “Third Watch.” He made a cameo appearance as “Adam Williams” in “The Hunger” and “Gordon Walker” in “Supernatural.” He has guest appearances on series such as ER, NYPD Blue, Alias and Boston Legal.
Brown was cast as psychiatrist “Roland Burton” in the Lifetime series Military Wife. The show ran for seven seasons from June 2007 to June 2013. In 2012, he made a cameo appearance as detective “Karl Beecher” in the second season of “People Who Interested.” Brown played lawyer “Christopher Darden” in the FX series The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story. The role earned him a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. He was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Brown had a small role as a parole officer in the comedy film Our Idiot Brother (2011). His recent films include Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016), Astros (2016) and Marshall (2017).
Brown currently plays “Randall Pearson” on the NBC series “This Is Us.” The show was created by Dan Fogman and starred Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore. He received an NAACP Image Award and a Primetime Emmy in 2017. His upcoming films include Black Panther (2018) with Chadwick Boseman, The Predator (2018) with Boyd Holbrook and Hotel Artemis (TBA) with Jodie Foster.
