early life
Stephen Curry’s full name is Wardle Stephen Curry II. He was born on March 14, 1988 in Akron, Ohio. His father is Dell Curry, a successful NBA player and the all-time leading scorer for the Charlotte Hornets. He was also the Hornets’ top three-point shooter, though his son later took that achievement to a whole new level. Curry lived in Charlotte, North Carolina when his father played for the Hornets. After Dell started playing for the Raptors, Stephen Curry moved to Toronto with his family.
While in Toronto, Stephen Curry attended Queensway Christian Academy and joined the basketball team. During that time, he led the team to an undefeated season. He also joined Toronto at 5-0, a team that played other clubs in Ontario. Stephen Curry later won the provincial championship in Toronto 5-0. After Dell retired from professional basketball, Curry moved back to Charlotte with his family and finished high school, leading his new team to three league championships.
