Solange Knowles is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer and model. She has recorded three studio albums and is the founder of Saint Records. Solange was born on June 24, 1986 in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Tina, is a fashion designer and businesswoman, and her father, Matthew, is a talent manager. She has three siblings, Beyonce, Bianca and Nixon.

Solange studied dance and drama as a child. She gained early exposure as a backup dancer for Destiny’s Child. She appeared on their 2001 album 8 Days of Christmas. Solange had a supporting role in “Niki Johnson” in the film Johnson’s Family Vacation (2004) starring entertainers Cedric and Bow Wow. She starred with Hayden Panettiere in the cheerleading comedy film Bring It: All or Nothing (2006). Her TV credits include Proud Family, One on One and Ghost Whisperer. Solange models for her family’s ready-to-wear fashion label, House of Deréon. In 2008, she was named ambassador for Armani Jeans.
