Simone Biles is an American rhythmic gymnast and Olympic gold medalist. She won three consecutive World Championships and was the first African American to win the world all-around championship. Simone Arianne Biles was born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Her biological parents are Shanon Biles and Kelvin Clemons. She was raised by grandparents Ronald and Nellie. She has three siblings, Adria, Adam and Ronald. Biles graduated from home school in 2015. She is expected to enter the University of California after the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Byers responded to the call and became a gymnast at the age of eight. Her instructor is rhythmic gymnastics coach Aimee Boorman. Byers made his debut at the American Classic in Texas in 2011. She won her first championship at the 2012 Visa Championship. She also won first place in the all-around and vaulting competitions of the Secret American Classic in 2012.

At the senior level, Byers participated in the 2013 World Championships and won her first gold medal. She is 3 times world all-around champion, 3 times world floor champion and 4 times US national all-around champion. Byers won a total of 10 gold medals at the World Championships. She was nominated for the best female athlete in the 2016 ESPY Awards. Byers was selected to represent the U.S. team at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics. She fought alongside teammates Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian. The team known as the “Five Finals” won the Olympic gold medal in the gymnastics team event. Byers also won gold medals in individual all-around, vaulting and floor exercises.

Byers is a contestant in the 24th season of “Dancing with the Stars”. Her professional dance partner is Sasha Farber.
