Shocking news! Christian Evans, Ricki Lake’s ex-husband, died in battle with bipolar disorder
On Tuesday, Emmy Award-winning host Ricki Lake posted a heartfelt post on Instagram, revealing that her ex-husband had died after battling bipolar disorder, calling him a “soul mate.”
With pictures of smiles and hugs, Lake expressed his heartfelt condolences and said,
“I share with a heavy heart that my beloved soul mate Christian Evans has passed away. The world does not understand this person, but I do.”
According to Lake’s post, Evan succumbed to bipolar disorder for a long time, but the exact cause of death has not been revealed. In addition, she wrote,
“He has struggled with bipolar disorder all his life. For anyone who has lost family or friends due to mental illness, my heart is with you.”
The 48-year-old actress also expressed sympathy for all families who lost friends or family due to mental illness and continued to describe what Evan meant to her.
Lake also gained insight into the time she spent with Evan, for which she added,
“Because of knowing him and spending the past 6 and a half years of my life with him, I have become a greater person. He is a caring person. What makes me sad today is knowing that he is finally calm. The spirit is free.”
And ended her two-year emotional announcement about the death of her husband,
“Rest in peace, my love.”
After Lake and Evan started dating, a friend of Lake introduced her to jewelry designer Christian Evan in 2010 and eloped in April 2012.
