He officially returned to The Pogues in 2005, and the band re-released “Fairytale of New York,” which climbed to number two in the UK. They tour together. MacGown has appeared on nearly a dozen different shows, including Dropick Murphys and The Priests. He battled drug addiction for most of his life and made headlines when Sinead O’Connor reported him to London police for possessing heroin. MacGown credits O’Connor for helping him get clean.
