Shawn Mendes (Shawn Mendes) is a Canadian-born singer, songwriter and Vine star. He was born on August 8, 1998 in Toronto, Ontario, and grew up in Pickering. His father Manuel is a businessman and his mother Karen is a real estate agent. He has a younger sister named Aaliyah. Mendes attended Pine Ridge Middle School. He also took several online courses to complete his high school diploma.

Mendes started posting videos in 2013 and has since gained more than 20 million followers on social media. In 2014, as a member of Magcon, he toured with Nash Greer, Cameron Dallas and several other young stars. He later signed with Island Records and released his first single Life of the Party in June 2014. In the same year, he won the Youth Choice Award for Webstar in music.
