Sean Kingston is an American pop singer, songwriter and rapper. He was born Kisean Anderson on February 3, 1990 in Miami, Florida. His Jamaican parents are Janice Turner and Jack Ruby, Jr. He has two brothers and a sister. Kingston moved to Jamaica when he was 6 and attended high school in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. He moved back to Florida as a teenager to pursue music.

Kingston has made a major breakthrough on the music and social platform Myspace. He was discovered and signed by JR Rotem of Beluga Heights Records. Kingston’s debut single “Beautiful Girls” was released in May 2007 by Epic Records. It peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over one million copies in the United States. Kingston released his self-titled debut album in July 2007. The album won an RIAA Gold Award and featured the singles “Take You There”, “Me Love” and “There’s Nothin”. He later toured with Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce.

Kingston’s second album, Tomorrow, was released in September 2009. In 2010, he released the single “Letting Go (Dutty Love)” with Nicki Minaj and “Eenie Meenie” with Justin Bieber. His third album Back 2 Life was released in September 2013. It features guest artists such as TI, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, 2 Chainz and Yo Gotti. Kingston is reportedly working on a fourth album. The album’s lead single “Wait Up” premiered in September 2015.
