Starting with the 1980 Quad Cities Open, he won 11 PGA Tour titles. Hoch won the 1982 USF&G Classic and the 1984 Miller Senior QCO. He won the 1989 Las Vegas Invitational and the 1994 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Hoch won the 1995 and 1997 Greater Milwaukee Open Championships. He won the Michelob Championship at Kingsmere in 1996 and the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic in 2001. He also won the Advil Western Open that same year and the Ford Championship at Doral in 2003. Hoch also won the Walker Cup for the United States in 1979 and the Presidents Cup in 1994 and 1996. He finished second at the 1989 Masters and third at the 1987 PGA Championship. He also finished fifth at the 1993 US Open and eighth at the 2002 and 2002 British Opens. He won his first Champions Tour event in 2007. Hoch won the Walden Trophy and the Byron Nelson Award in 1986.
