Scooter Braun is an American entrepreneur, talent manager, investor, film producer and music executive. He is best known for discovering and managing pop singer Justin Bieber. Since then, he has collaborated with artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Ariana Grande, Hillary Duff and Tori Kelly. Braun is the founder of entertainment/media company SB Projects. His holding company “Ithaca Holdings LLC” owns companies in the music, film/TV, gaming and technology industries. He is also the co-founder of the “Raymond Braun Media Group” with Usher and the film studio “Mythos Studios” with David Maisel.
His name is Scott Samuel Braun and he was born on June 18, 1981 in New York City. He has siblings Liza, Adam, Cornelio and Sam. His father Ervin is a dentist and his mother Susan is an orthodontist. They are originally from Hungary. Braun spent his childhood near Cos Cob, Connecticut. He attended Greenwich High School and played competitive basketball in the Amateur Athletic League (AAU). Braun continues to produce Bieber’s documentary, Never Give Up (2011). It made $99 million with a budget of $13.
Braun’s full-service entertainment company “SB Projects” was first launched in 2007. SB Projects is the umbrella company of Schoolboy Record, Sheba Publishing, SB Management and the aforementioned RBMG. Braun’s holding company “Ithaca Holdings LLC” has interests in many other music management companies. They acquired Big Machine Records (Taylor Swift’s former record company) in June 2019.
