Samantha Bee is a Canadian-American comedian, actor, writer, and TV personality. She worked with Jon Stewart as a reporter for The Daily Show for 12 years. Her late-night talk/news show “Working with Samantha Bee” premiered on TBS in 2016. Samantha Jamie Bee was born on October 25, 1969 in Toronto, Canada. Her parents Debra and Ronald separated soon after she was born. She spent her childhood with her grandmother. Bee attended Humberside College, followed by York Memorial College. Before transferring to the University of Ottawa, she studied briefly at McGill University. Bee continues to study at the George Brown Theatre School in her hometown of Toronto. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 2014.

Bee works as a waitress when looking for a job in the entertainment industry. Early in her career, she toured under the name of the live-action Sailor Moon. In February 2016, Bee premiered her own late-night talk and news satire “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” on TBS. The show was renewed for seasons 3 and 4 in January 2018. Full Frontal has won multiple honors, including 2 Dorian Awards, 2 Gracie Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. Bee made headlines after the episode of Full Frontal on May 31, 2018. In her monologue, she referred to Ivanka Trump as a “shameless bastard.” She apologized to Ivanka in the episode of Full Frontal on June 6.
