Sam Madison was born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1974 and played college football for the University of Louisville Cardinals. The Miami Dolphins selected Madison with the 44th overall pick in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft.
He continued to play for the Dolphins until 2005 before signing a four-year free agent contract with the New York Giants during the 2006 season. Madison was part of the Giants’ victory over the then-undefeated New England Patriots during Super Bowl XLII in Arizona on February 3, 2008. Madison retired with the Giants after the 2008 season. He finished his career with 476 tackles, 38 interceptions, 2 quarterback sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, 11 forced turnovers and over 100 defensive passes.
