Sam Bradford is an American professional football player currently signed with the Minnesota Vikings. He’s 6-foot-4 and plays quarterback. Samuel Jacob Bradford was born on November 8, 1987 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His mother Martha was a PE teacher and his father Kent worked in the insurance industry. They have been married for over 35 years. Bradford attended Putnam North High School and then the University of Oklahoma. Before completing his degree, he entered the NFL draft in 2010.

Bradford’s grandfather introduced him to the world of sports. Besides football, he is also good at basketball and golf. During his final year of high school, he averaged a double-double in basketball. He also threw for 2,029 yards and 17 touchdowns as a quarterback for the Putnam North Panthers in 2005. Bradford played three seasons of college football for Oklahoma. He received several honors in 2008, including the Heisman Trophy and the David O’Brien Award. He was also named the 2008 Player of the Year by The Associated Press and Sports News.

Bradford was selected by the St. Louis Rams with the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He became the team’s starting quarterback in September 2010. He was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2010 after setting a new NFL record for the most completions by a rookie with 169. Bradford suffered a series of injuries during the 2011-14 season, including a sprained ankle and a torn ACL. He was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015. Bradford signed a two-year extension with the Hawks in March 2016, but was traded to the Minnesota Vikings six months later. He will replace the injured Teddy Bridgewater who tore his ACL in August 2016.
