He is an 8-time All-Star and 2-time Cy Young Award winner. Harady was born on May 14, 1977 in Denver, Colorado, and his original name was Khalil Roy Harady III. His father Harry Jr. was a pilot and his mother Linda was a housewife. He has two sisters, Heather and Melinda. Halladay grew up in the suburbs of Arvada, where he attended Arvada Western High School. He graduated in 1995.

He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays with the 17th overall pick in the 1995 amateur draft. Halladay made his Major League Baseball debut against the Tampa Bay Devils on September 20, 1998. From 1998 to 2009, he played for the Blue Jays for 12 seasons. After achieving 19 wins and 7 losses, he was selected to the All-Star for the first time in 2002. Haradi won the 2003 Cy Young Award as the best pitcher in the American League. He was also named the 2003 MLB Champion.
