Ross Brown Net Worth and Salary: Ross Brown is a British former racing engineer who has a net worth of $150 million. Brown was born on 23 November 1954 in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, and is best known as technical director for the Bennetton and Ferrari Formula 1 teams. He owns the Brown GP team.
He bought Honda in 2009 and was bought by Mercedes later that year. Brown stepped down as director and team principal in 2013 and retired from Formula 1 in 2014. He developed an interest in motorsport and engineering after visiting Bellevue Stadium at an early age. In 1971 he became a mechanic apprentice at the UK Atomic Energy Agency. He was awarded an honorary doctorate of engineering from Brunel University and a second honorary doctorate from Heriot-Watt University in 2011 for his efforts in motorsport. He started racing in 1976 after joining March Engineering as a milling machine operator in Bicester. He became a Formula 3 mechanic and worked as an aerodynamics specialist in the team’s wind tunnel. In 1989, Brawn became part of Jaguar’s sports car racing division and served as chief designer for the Jaguar XJR-14, which won the 1991 World Sports Car Championship. He currently owns a holiday home near Trevors Head, Cornwall. He is married to Jean Brown and is an avid salmon and trout fisherman.
