Ronnie Corbett is a Scottish actor, comedian and broadcaster. He is best known for the sketch comedy show Two Ronnies. Corbett was born to parents William Balfour and Anne Elizabeth on December 4, 1930 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He attended James Gillespie’s High School, followed by Royal High School. After graduation, Corbett worked in the Department of Agriculture. He also served as a pilot officer in the Royal Air Force.

Corbett moved to London in 1952 and made his debut in the comedy film You’re Only Young Twice. In 1956, he played “Chumleigh” in Maurice Elvey’s film “Fun at St. Fanny’s.” Corbett rose to fame playing various roles on the satirical TV series The Frost Report. The show ran for two seasons on the BBC from 1966 to 1967. Later, he starred in the sitcom “No – This Is Me! “Ronnie” as the protagonist. The show ran for three seasons from 1967 to 1970.
Corbett and Ronnie Barker co-starred in the hit TV series The Two Ronnies. The show ran for 12 seasons on the BBC from 1971 to 1987. Corbett played various roles, including himself. Other notable films include the films Some Will, Some Won’t (1970), No Sex Please, We’re British (1973), Fierce Creatures (1997) and the series Now Look Here (1971-1973) and Sorry! (1981-1988).
