Born in Rome, Georgia in 1981, Ronnie Brown played college football for the Auburn University Tigers near his hometown. Brown was twice honored with the SEC Second Team during his college career.
He played for Auburn from 2000 to 2004 and earned a degree in Communication. 2002 was the best season of his college career, when he took a timeshare with future pro Carnell Williams. The Miami Dolphins selected him with the second overall pick in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played in South Florida until 2010 before joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 on a one-year deal. Brown went on to play for the San Diego Chargers from 2012 to 2013, then joined the Houston Texans in 2014 and later played a second time with the Chargers. That same season, injuries devastated San Diego’s running backs early in the season. As of 2014, the 6-foot, 223-pound running back has accumulated 5,332 rushing yards and 38 rushing touchdowns with an average of 4.2 rushing attempts. He also had 242 catches for 1,922 yards and two points. He received Pro Bowl honors in 2008.
