Roger Moore is a British actor, producer, philanthropist and author. He is best known for playing the lead role of “James Bond” in seven Bond films. His television credits include Ivanhoe, Maverick, Saint and Persuader. He was knighted by the Queen in 2003. Roger George Moore was born on October 14, 1927 in Stockwell, London. His mother, Lillian, was a housewife and his father, George, was a police officer. He is an only child. Moore attended Battersea Grammar School in South London, followed by Launceston College School. He also attended Dr Chaloner’s Grammar School, the venerable Beeder College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Moore served in the Royal Army for about 3 years before starting full-time acting.
