Roberto Civita Net Worth: Roberto Civita is a Brazilian businessman and publisher with a net worth of $5 billion. Roberto inherited a media conglomerate from his father, turning it into one of Brazil’s largest magazine publishers. Roberto F. Civita was born in Milan, Italy (August 9, 1936 – May 26, 2013) as a toddler when his family moved to New York in 1938 to escape racial laws.
The Civita family eventually settled in Brazil, where Roberto’s father, Victor Civita, started a publishing house, Editora Abril, in 1949. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Roberto joined the family business in the late 1960s. He has held the position of President since 1982 and assumed full control in 1990. Roberto transformed the company into one of the largest publishing companies in Brazil, with around 7,000 employees today. More importantly, he also leads the Education Foundation and is actively involved in the leadership of Lauder College and the Wharton Advisory Board. He is survived by his second wife (Maria Antonia); three children (Giancarlo, Roberta and Victor) and six grandchildren from his first marriage; his son Giancarlo succeeds him as head of April.
