Robert Guillaume is an American Emmy Award-winning actor, voice actor and Broadway music star. He played “Benson” in the ABC sitcom Soap and “Isaac Jaffe” in “Sports Night”. His film works include The Lion King (1994), The First Child (1996) and Big Fish (2003). Guillaume was born Robert Peter Williams on November 30, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was mainly raised by his grandmother Janet Williams. The last name “Guillaume” adopted is William’s French. Guillaume graduated from Saint Joseph’s High School. He served briefly in the US Army (1945-47). He majored in business administration at St. Louis University and majored in music at Washington University in St. Louis.

The role was repeated in the spin-off series Benson (1979-86). Guillaume played “Frederick Douglas” in the miniseries “North and South” (1985), played “Bob Ballard” in Pacific Station (1991-92), and played “Sports Night” (1998). -2000) played “Isaac Jaffe”.
