Derringer’s song remained at No. 1 until The Beatles’ “Yesterday” rose to the top of the chart. In the 1970s Derringer played with Johnny Winter And and his brother’s band The Edgar Winter Group. Derringer achieved success as a solo artist in the ’70s, releasing songs such as “Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo”. In the 1980s he worked as a producer and musician with “Weird Al” Yankovic. He has toured with Ringo Starr’s 11th All-Star Band and artists such as Edgar Winter and Richard Paige.
