His first roles appeared in the 1965 TV series “Dr. Finlay’s Casebook” and the TV movie “Romeo and Juliet.” From 1973 to 1978 he played Jeremy Parsons QC on the television series Crown Court. From 1979 to 1982, he played Gordon Thorpe in Only When I Laugh. Wilson played Victor Meldru on the TV series from 1990 to 2000. From 2008 to 2012, he played Gaius in the Merlin series. Wilson has also been featured in the TV series ITV Theater, Yankees Come Home, Short of Breath, Play for Today, In Love’s Memory, Andy Robson, High and Dry, Tutti Frutti, Hot Metal, The Bottom Room, Cluedo Play the role, Sell Hitler, Under the Hammer, Duck Patrol, Life Support, High Risk, Life as We Know It, and Birth and Breeding. Wilson has won two BAFTA Television Awards, a BAFTA Scottish Outstanding Achievement Award and a British Comedy Award. In 2000, he also won the TMA Best Director Award.
