Richard Anderson is an American television and film actor. He is best known for his role as “Oscar Goldman” in the “Six Million Dollar Man” and “Bionic Woman” series. His film works include Road to Glory (1957), May 7th (1964) and Seconds (1966). Anderson was born on August 8, 1926 in Long Branch, New Jersey. His parents are Olga and Harry. He has a younger brother named Robert. Anderson studied at the Actor Lab in Los Angeles, California. During World War II, he also served in the US Army.

Anderson became interested in acting after watching Gary Cooper’s film. He was recruited by MGM scouts while performing at the Laguna Theater in Santa Barbara. He auditioned for MGM and was awarded a six-year contract. Anderson made his first appearance in “Twelve O’clock High” (1949). He appeared in MGM movies such as The Majestic Yankees (1950), Escape from Fort Bravo (1953), Student Prince (1954) and Forbidden Planet (1956). He repeatedly played the role of “Ricardo del Amo” in the Disney series Zorro (1958-59). He appeared in the Fox movie “Summer” (1958). He played the role of “Caleb Cornish” in the “Tallest Tree” produced by Broadway in 1959.
Anderson guest starred in “Lieutenant. Steve Drumm” in more than 20 episodes of Perry Mason (1965-66). He played “Oscar Goldman” in “Six Million Dollar Man” (1974-78) and “Bionic Woman” (1976-78). The role of Oscar Goldman is repeated in TV movies, The Return of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman (1987), Bionic Showdown (1989) and Bionic Forever? (1994). Anderson’s TV works also include The Man from UNCLE, Gunsmoke, I Spy, Ironside, Hawaii Five-O, Dynasty and The Love Boat. He tells the crime drama series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993-97). His film works include “Road to Glory” (1957) with Kirk Douglas, “Long Hot Summer” (1958) with Paul Newman and “Landcaster” with Burt Lancaster. The Seventh of May” (1964). In 2007, Anderson won the Palme d’Or on the Walk of Fame in Palm Springs.

Anderson married “Carol Lee Rad” from 1955 to 1956, and married “Catherine Talberg” from 1961 to 1973. His three daughters Ashley, Brook and Deva survived.
