Richie Valens Net Worth: Richie Valens is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist who has a net worth of $500,000. Rich Valens was born in Pacoima, California in May 1941 and died in February 1959. Valens is known as the pioneer of rock music and the father of the Chicano rock movement.
His career only lasted eight months before he was involved in a plane crash with Buddy Holly and JP “The Big Bopper” Richardson, commonly known as “The Day the Music Died.” Valens released his self-titled debut studio album in 1959 and his follow-up Ritchie the same year. His only other album was In Concert at Pacoima Jr. High, released posthumously in 1961. Valens’ most successful single was released in 1958. “Donna” was number two, while his version “La Bamba” was number 22. Valens started playing guitar and trumpet at the age of nine, and later taught himself to play drums. He joined The Silhouettes at the age of 16. He signed with Bob Keane, owner and president of Del-Fi Records. Valence was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6733 Hollywood Blvd. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Ritchie Valens died on February 3, 1959 at the age of 17.
