Rich Brian is an Indonesian rapper, songwriter, comedian and internet celebrity. He was formerly known as Rich Chigga. He rose to fame with songs such as “Dat Stick,” “Who That Be,” “Gospel” and “Glow Like Dat.” His debut album Amen was released in February 2018. Brian Imanuel was born on September 2, 1999 in Jakarta, Indonesia. His parents are Indonesian Chinese. He has four siblings, including Sonia Eryka and Roy Leonard. Brian grew up in West Jakarta and was homeschooled. He learned English by watching YouTube videos.

Before music, Brian mostly did comedy. He started sharing pictures on Twitter in 2010. A photo of him and President Barack Obama has caused a stir online.
