Reinold Geiger Net Worth: Reinold Geiger is a former ski champion and CEO of French cosmetics retailer L’Occitane who has a net worth of $1.3 billion. Geiger started his career in packaging, becoming CEO of L’Occitane in 1994. At that time, he had established and developed a company called AMS Packaging SA, specializing in packaging for the high-end fragrance and cosmetics market.
However, he decided to leave AMS Packaging entirely in 1990, when he started investing in declining companies such as L’Occitane. But when he became L’Occitane’s CEO, Geiger drove the company’s growth, especially in China and Japan, where its natural Provence-made creams and fragrances have grown in popularity. By 1996, Geiger held a majority stake in L’Occitane and had invested heavily in the company. Since then, L’Occitane has transformed from a three-store company to an international empire of 1,500 stores. In 1998, Geiger was honored as INSEAD Entrepreneur of the Year due to L’Occitane Group’s international development strategy. Geiger gained most of his knowledge at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland, where he earned an engineering degree in 1969, then an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and an MBA in 1976.
